Floral Bouquet Headbands // Shop Update

I added a few new floral bouquet headbands to the shop recently. Every single one is one of kind, won't be another exactly like it. I love making these for special occassions and weddings. If you know anyone who might be interested, send them over.

I'll go ahead and answer a few questions I get about the headbands.

• No, they aren't those tight metal headbands that give you headaches after a few hours. I can wear them all day and feel great. I usually stretch mine out a bit when I first make a new one, let it sit out for 24hrs stretched out (just put the headband on something where the bands have to stretch). 
• Yes, they are durable. I'm not advising you to drop it on your floor, but you will not have flowers falling off. I test each headband for loose flowers after making each one. 
• Not waterproof. Like most jewelry you might not want to swim in it. Wet hair, no problem. Raining outside, no problem. Scuba diving, PROBLEM. Use common sense.
• Will the colors fade?? They won't fade unless you plan on spending about a week in the blaring sun with your headband on. Otherwise, your headband will stay brightly colored for many years. 
• Maintenance. Has dust gotten into your flower petal details? It happens. I advise using a paintbrush or clean make up brush to maintain the headbands. If you HAVE to use water make sure you dry it immediately.

Views from My Desk // no. 1

New feature every Tuesday, views from my desk. Reminds me of the project Kara Haupt inspired me to do back in 2010. 

As you can see the studio is still being put together, but I'm loving this space. I can't wait till it's fully functioning. I've got a few of my favorite wedding cards out to frame and lots of tools present as I hang things on the walls. The last photo is a custom order I finally completed, I made an extra because I loved the headband so much. I'm hoping to release 20 or so one of kind headbands in February. I love how each one becomes its own design, no matter if I use the exact same flowers. I love being able to mix colors and textures, floral bouquet headbands are just my favorite. The End.

The Necklace Factory + A Contest

A few weeks ago I had a deal on VeryJane.com. I had an explosion of necklace sales, and now I'm aiming to get them all out by next Friday! Having an office again has helped tremendously and I plan on asking Mr. &, i.e. Rob, to help as well (he is an excellent necklace assembler).

Thought I'd share a peak of the new office, even though it's far from finished. Rob has half the room as his study and I get the other half for my shop. Although he did get both windows out the deal, I did get the most wall space and a closet ;)

The cubby space on the wall was made by my uncle back in 2002. I first used it to display my beanie baby collection and then it evolved into my CD collection. It's one of the best things I've ever been given and I'm hoping it lasts till I'm 90.

The last little thing I wanted to mention was a CONTEST! I want you guys to help me pick a new color combination for my double flower necklace design. In one week, December 7th, I will chose my favorite new combination and the winner will receive the brand new necklace design. Showtime!

Well folks it's here. Months of preparation. Hours of work. And realizing I have the most supportive friends and family. In a few minutes I'll leave to head to my first "real" show. 4 days, 30 hours, 1,000s of people. Too say I'm nervous is an understatement, I'm terrified. I know I'll make it through and this first day will be the hardest.

New Product // Floral Keychains

Finally introducing some new products to the blog. I've had these made for a few weeks now and will be taking them to the show next week. I'll list them on the website in October; I'm planning of having a large shop update soon.

It's about 6 days till I start setting up my 10 x 10 booth at the show. I'm getting nervous and excited! I cannot wait to see how the booth comes together, I've been working hard to get everything ready. I've even had my boyfriend Rob helping. Yesterday, he made over 200 earring cards... so grateful for a supportive guy in my life. And that's about it over here. Working my part-time job and then the other hours on show preparation.

Push Pins Mania

I've got my push pins all packaged and ready to go for the October show. I made about 24 sets, which was pretty fun. I enjoyed picking the color sets and making the packaging. What doesn't sell I'll add to the shop, but if you want a custom order or specific colors you can just e-mail me. Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday.
