kinda slow around these parts.

no cute photos. no super excited adventures.

just been plugging away on job applications. resume tweaking. exams. b/w photography portfolio. and enjoying the last 2 months of college.

I graduate in less than 60 days. how is this possible? I'm getting ready, but also feeling sentimental. I am SO READY FOR SPRING BREAK. for the first time EVER, I'm getting the typical spring break. Water parks, warm(ish) weather, and my best friends :) I'm so happy that this is the way I get to spend my last college break!

So how are you guys? Thanks for all the kind words about my weight loss post, seriously love you all.
I'm kinda out of ideas for posts at the moment. Leave me some idea if you have a moment :) xoxo

I need to take better photos of my outfits on the days I try. i.e. not in the mirror in my dorm room, haha.

Here is my outfit from Wednesday.
The belt is from my mom, it's my favorite accessory EVER! the cardigan is from American Eagle, the white top is from Alternative Apparel, the boots are Minnetonka and the jeans are from Forever 21.
and yes I need to clean my mirror, haha. oops!

my weightloss journey.

I know I've only briefly mentioned my weight loss on here, but it has been the biggest part of my life since late October, so I feel it deserves a post.
On October 21st, I decided I was tired with the weight I had gained over 3 years of college. I had been perfectly content and secure with my body up until this point, and I wasn't letting magazine "standards" push me into thinking I wasn't beautiful the way I was. However, I came across a weight/height table, and realized I was in the overweight category, by a good 15 pounds. It kinda hit me, I wasn't being healthy with my eating choices anymore. I decided that I wanted to get down to a healthy weight, the healthy way, but a way that I could stick to and not be miserable.

I began by cutting out soft drinks, fast food (which wasn't much anyway), candy, chips, junk food, and fried things in the cafeteria. I started eating breakfast (which I never did before), drinking lots of water and eating more fruits and veggies than I thought possible. I also began working out 5x a week. After the first few weeks, I could already tell a difference in my mood, my energy and my clothing. It made me realize how easy being healthy could be and I began to set some goals for my new lifestyle.

I decided I wanted to get close to my high school weight by the time I graduated. So I had 6 months, totally managable. I can still remember those first few weeks in the gym, where I could barely make it 30 minutes on a cardio machine... it was brutal. But I really enjoyed pushing myself and competing against myself.
In January, I didn't own a pair of jeans that fit me, I had given them all away to friends because they were falling off of me. I started purchasing $15 jeans from Forever 21 until I got to a size I wanted to maintain. People started noticing my weight loss and I felt good about myself (not that I didn't before, I just felt accomplished). I was finally starting to be able to fit into clothes that had never been "for my body type" and I was excited to start buying the clothing I had LONGED to wear for years.

As of today, I have lost 24 lbs and 4.5" off my waist. I could really careless about the numbers on the scale, I'm more in love with how my body looks, muscular and healthy. The whole weight loss process has taught me so much about myself, and every day I look forward to my "me" time in the gym. I get to be selfish and indulge myself. I finally feel me.
I don't want to come across like being thinner is the only way I could be happy, that's not the case. Knowing that I am healthier and can live longer makes me happy. Knowing that I can go on an adventure with friends and not be worried about physically being able to keep up has allowed me to participate more. I'm not hiding in my room, I'm living and being me.

I now have new goals of running in some races, I'm really excited. I may even try to teach some fitness classes after I graduate. I'm just in love with working out and the mood I'm in when I push myself further than I think I can go. It's made me realize I can do that in more aspects of my life, to just keeping pushing, even when it feels like I should stop.
So that is what I have really been consumed with for the past 5 months and I had a few e-mails about it, so I thought I'd share the full picture. I debated a long time whether or not this was an appropriate topic, but then I thought about how supportive you all are and decided to just post it.

a custom order.

I've been working on a custom bridal order, and last night I got to package up the boxes :) I had so much fun getting them ready to be given out, to I'm guessing bridesmaids.

I always get so nervous with bridal orders, I want the pieces to be EXACTLY what they wanted :) I always take a little extra time packaging things up and making the presentation for the brides a little easier.

Here is a quick look at my process...

I was pretty proud of the out come :) I feel like I'm finally getting this branding thing down, and my style is being carried over to the packaging and presentation. If you have any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them :)

I'll leave you with some shop business I've been working on. Trying to decide which colors and styles I want to keep in stock at all times and possibly whole sale. As well as a few new designs, that I am procrastinating adding to the shop out of mere laziness.

fact 32 // I take too many photobooth photos

I'm just gonna throw it out there, I have too many photos of myself in photobooth. haha. I usually try to send my mom a photo a day, we haven't seen each other since December, so it's a nice and easy way for her to feel connected to me.
5 minutes after waking up
heading to a beach themed party! fist pump is a must
me being unmotivated to go out on a Saturday night, haha
me bragging to my mom about my new bicep muscles, hahahahahhaa
So yea, these are the kinds of photos my mom gets on a daily basis. Sometimes she is really lucky and gets an actual camera picture, but I can't spoil her all the time ;)

Do you love photobooth?

letting go : my photography theme

so in a about a month I have to turn in 10-12 cohesive Black and White photos that represent a theme. I've been thinking long a hard about what I wanted to do, and I think I've finally figured it out.

Letting Go : Saying Goodbye To College  /// I want the photos to be void of actual people except one photo, that will be me leaving, not sure what I want to do with that yet. I'm wanting to do photos like "A Day in the Life" but I need the photos to show what a typical college student does on a daily basis. I am really excited to work on this :) I think it is the perfect closure for me as a Senior as well as documenting my last semester as a college student.
If you guys have any ideas, let me know! When you think of college life what is the first scene that pops into your head?
**photos used are just digital shots I made black and white and are not from this school year, just ideas**

the goodness book update.

back in November I posted about Elise's Goodness Book. I've actually started to add to it and I have some idea of what I want to do with it. :) I wanted to share some of the pages I have so far... I think I'll section different parts of my life off as I go, or I might just leave it in chronological order like a journal.

Elise still has Goodness Books in her etsy shop, and it also comes in gray. EEEK!
Elise has a new mini book coming out soon, I am very excited, her kits are just perfection.

what's on my dresser // face edition

**Covergirl Natural Luxe Liquid Silk Foundation 310 // Almay One Coat Nourishing Mascara Black Brown // Garnier Moisture Rescue SPF15 // NIVEA Shimmer Lip Care // Clinique Blush (no idea the color) // Bobby Brown Lip and Eye Pallettte // Rimmel Pressed Powder Transparent**

I thought it would be fun to finally do one of these on Polyvore. I'm always curious what others use in real life, so yea most of these were bought just because, and I'm not really hooked on one product over another. I honestly buy makeup based on the price or current sale going on.

The only thing I will really tell you I am in LOVE with is the Garnier Lotion and the Covergirl Foundation. My skin hates moisturizers, most of them irritate it, this one is the best! Also, the Covergirl foundation is LEGIT, as in it doesn't look like I have much makeup, but covers up blemishes really well. It was like $10, but totally worth it. Before I was only using a tinted moisturizer.

Any products you guys love? Let me know!
