2011 here I come.
- find a job I love
- share more with others
- stop biting my nails
and
- try new things
I'm leaving my resolutions very open. I don't want to pressure myself, but I wanted to have some sort of guide. I'm hoping that 2011 is a great year for me.
What are yours? Leave a link if you've posted about them :)

getting organized
the weeks leading up to the new year make me wanna get organized. it's a fresh start, a little hope that I will be more on top of things.
I've been busy making new organizational books and journals, they have been so much fun. For those that aren't into making things, etsy has some amazing planners and organizers. Here are a few I've been drooling over.
I can't believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve, I honestly have been enjoying family and friends so much the break has just flown by. I can't wait to give presents tomorrow, I put a lot of love and thought into each gift. Our family does a very low key Christmas, only a few gifts are exchanged, but they come from the heart.
Tomorrow night will be a blur, Christmas dinner at my house, then off Spence's family dinner, and then back to my house for gifts. Then in the morning I will go over and do gifts at Spence's house. Spence and I decided to split up the gifts we got each other between the two houses. So he will open two from me tomorrow and two from me Christmas morning. Kinda spreads out the goodness, we did an all handmade Christmas, eek!

these days
I've been spending lots of time with these two, Parker and Spence. Being home has been so nice. Seeing my family and spending time with them is just the best.
The other night my grandparents took my mom, Spence and me out to eat dinner at our favorite Mexican Restaurant. Half-way through the dinner my grandmother starts telling us she got new shoes (for new readers, my grandmother has Alzheimer) and proceeds to lift her leg up on to the table to show off her new shoes. She then starts to tell the story of how she bought the new shoes and trying them on. I should also tell you that my grandmother lost her leg to diabetes about 4 years, but she has such a great attitude about it. So she tells us the salesperson brought her the shoes from the back and then she needed a different size, so he went to go grab the other size. When he came back my grandmother had taken off her leg and had it sitting in her lap. She said it was easier to get shoes on and off of it that way... poor salesman.
She is just hilarious, and we never know what she is going to do next, but she keeps us on our toes. The best part of the whole story was that my grandmother told it to us acting like she didn't know what the big deal was about taking her leg off. Yes, cause seeing someone take their artificial leg off is soo common, haha.
Just a fun little story, hopefully it made sense and wasn't offensive.
How are you all spending your holidays? Any funny stories?

Floral Jewelry Box : DIY
I just came up with this for my etsy shop. I wanted something different than the labels I was ordering. I bought a stamp that I loved, some Archival Ink (pearlescent orchid) and grabbed some blank jewelry boxes.
Step 1 : Condition your stamps. I usually use an eraser on them, and it makes the print a lot crisper. Then add ink to the areas of the stamp you want. On mine I only wanted the flowers, not the stems.
Step 2: Lay down the top of the box lid directly onto the stamp. Then use your fingers to press on the inside of the lid to make sure the stamp takes all over. I found this to be a better way than pushing the stamp onto the lid, because it causes the lid to crush.
Step 3: Allow to dry. With the pealescent ink it take a few minutes. I love the way this ink looks compared to the regular shades, it's just more chic :)
Hope this gives you some low cost ideas to create beautiful gift boxes.

Campus Creeper : Santa?
I'm packing in my room and just happened to see this out my window. I died laughing. My college is only 500 people so when things like this happen it's kinda weird... but it brought a big smile to my face.
Hope you all have a great day. I've got some crafty posts coming up :)

In this moment
As finals wrap up today, I was thinking about this photo I took 2 years ago.
In 2 years so much has happened, changed and evolved. I'm a different person, there is no way I couldn't be. I've loved and lost, I've aced and failed, and I've learned to be a better person.
It makes me think about what the next two years have in store, but then I'm reminded to live in the moment. And in this moment I am 2 hours from being done with half of my Senior year. I have survived my second to last finals week, and it is bittersweet. I think I'll miss the chaos and the study sessions with my friends. I know I will.
Hope you all have an amazing Wednesday :)

Oh hello cool Christmas sweater party...
the only photo I got back from the party. I never take my camera to campus parties... people aren't respectful, haha.
oh how I wish I looked like that now. I haven't showered in days (gross, I know) and I have bags under my eyes from lack of sleep.... oh how I love you finals week. Maybe I'll wear this sweater tomorrow in hopes of getting an A on this essay exam... I'm going a little crazy over here.

bad for me, some good for you
It's exam week, which means I spent 12 hours in the library yesterday. And yes I did take a blanket, pillow and my teapot. hehe.

Instead, dear readers and friends, I will give you a coupon code to ultimate savings. WINTER2010 gets you 15% off anything in the store. ANYTHING! memberships, headbands, ANYTHING. It's kind of awesome, cause you guys are awesome.
Order before 12/15/10 and it is guaranteed to get to you by Christmas (United States only, I can't predict international orders).
**oh and I have a special prize for the 500th sale :) It's worth $35. yay!

22 at twenty-two : monthly self-portraits
22 at twenty - two : #6 monthly self-portraits
4 months down, wow! I honestly want to get more creative with these in 2011; most of these just fell into place without me even thinking about my 22 project.
These are fun because they capture different parts of me and my personality. I love all the freckles in September's photos, they are all gone now. And I love December's photo, just puts my feelings at the moment into a photo, haha.
you can see my whole 22 at twenty two list here.

my studio
and I say studio lightly. My little craft nook in the corner of my dorm room.
it's small, but it's very functional. I love the pegboard, I made that my sophomore year out of an old picture frame and pegboard from the hardware store, so easy and affordable. I keep all my favorites here.
I'll be sharing inside my desk in January :) Leave me links to your craft spaces, xoxo
